Mary Elaine Moffett

Mary Elaine Moran Moffett, 71, of York passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020. She was the wife of Daniel “Danny” L. Moffett, Sr. with whom she shared 32 years together and 31 years of marriage. Born in La Plata, MD she was a daughter of the late William M. and Mary Jean (Spalding) Moran. Elaine was in the last graduating class (1967) of Notre Dame High School in Bryantown, MD.Elaine graduated with a Master’s Degree from Mount Saint Agnes College in Baltimore, MD, Class of 1971.She worked as a teacher for Charles County Public Schools, including T.C. Martin Elementary School and Piccowaxen Middle School, retiring after 30 years of service. She also taught with the Charles County Evening High School Program for several years. She loved traveling the world with her husband and family. She was an amazing cook and a devoted grandmother. In addition to her husband Danny, she is survived by her daughter Jennifer Kirby; son William Moffett and his wife Deanna; daughter-in-law Wendy Moffett; six grandchildren Anna Kirby, Ella Moffett, Ellen Kirby, Ava Moffett, Liam Moffett and Harrison Moffett; four siblings William Michael Moran, Debra Jean Brown, Theresa Lynn Rose and Lee Scott Moran.
