Mary Barbara Olson

Mary Barbara Olson, 83, of Stewartstown, PA, entered God’s eternal care on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at WellSpan Shrewsbury Hospital.

Born November 25, 1942, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Victor J. and Mary D. (McGraw) Stalch. She was the wife of Dr. Janne R. Olson, MD, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage until his death August 3, 2015.

Barbara had a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 50 years, in Baltimore, and then later at her husband’s family practice in Fawn Grove beginning in 1977. She worked alongside him and ran the daily operations. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and traveling. She especially loved going on adventures to Prime Hook, Lewes and Rehoboth beaches, and years ago she enjoyed visiting historical war sites with her husband. Barbara was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Barbara is survived by four children, Jan-Erick Olson and wife Jeanie of Felton, Britta Blythe and husband Richard of Harrisburg, Linda Cairns and husband Jack of Delta, and Thomas Olson of Bensalem, as well as eleven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Emalee Anne Olson and Kristina Sebastian.

Following cremation, a private funeral liturgy will be held at the convenience of her family. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery.
