Melvin Cole Badders, 83, of White Hall, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018. He was the husband of Virginia Ann (Hodgson) Badders with whom he celebrated 64 years of marriage. Born inRayville, Maryland, Melvin was the son of the late William Melvin and Maude Marie (Marshall) Badders. In addition to his wife, Virginia, he is survived by his three children Timothy Badders and his wife Donna, Lauri Leslie - Jolly and her husband Ron, Cheryl Bowman and her husband Glenn; 5 grandchildren Charles Badders, Richard Cole Bowman, Michael Bowman, Ashley Badders, and Holly Baier; 8 great grandchildren; 3 siblings Ted Badders and his wife Mary, Jeanette Michael and her husband Bill and Larry Badders; several nieces and nephews. Melvin was a gentleman farmer his entire life. He retired from the former White Hall Paper Mill after 35 years of service. Viewing will be on Thursday, October 18th from 3:00- 5:00 p.m. & 7:00- 9:00 p.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 19th at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pine Grove United Methodist Cemetery in Parkton, MD.
