Mervin E. Wilson, 86, of New Park, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022. Born in New Jersey, he was the son of the late Milford Eugene and Evelyn (Stiles) Wilson. He was married for 56 years to the late Elornia Mae Wilson.
Mervin was a member of the Stewartstown American Legion Post 455 and Muddy Creek Trout Unlimited. Owning his own businesses was a passion for Mervin. He owned Cedar Valley Grocery, Village Video, Wilson’s Funnel Cakes & Lemonade, and Cedar Valley Pizzeria. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, as he loved the outdoors. Mervin also enjoyed hot rods and riding motorcycles, especially Harley-Davidsons. He loved his animals, including his dogs, mini horses, and mules. Mervin was a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Mervin is survived by his 4 children, Kathleen Wert (Brian), Joanne Wilson, William Wilson (Ann), and Steven Wilson (Robin); 7 grandchildren, Shawn Wert, Brandon Wert, Tara Wert, Cory (Samantha) Wilson, Dalton Wilson, Shelby Wilson, and Jarrett (Kira) Wilson; 4 great grandchildren, Sydney and Zoe Wert, and Ellianna and Liam Wilson; 2 sisters, Elaine Wilson Hargraves and Thelma Wilson; and granddaughter-in-law, Jeannie Henson. He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Elornia Mae Wilson; daughter, Donna Jean Wilson; and brother, Kenneth Wilson, Sr.
A public viewing will be held on Saturday, August 13 th , from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Prospect United Methodist Church, 8 Orchard Rd., New Park, PA 17352. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
