Neta D. James, 92, of Shrewsbury passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019 at SpiriTrust Lutheran, Shrewsbury. She was the wife of Charles E. James, Sr. who passed away in 1982. Born in Walla Walla, WA she was a daughter of the late Percival and Ida (Lockhart) Harris. Neta retired from Anne Arundel County Public Schools where she worked in the cafeteria and Angels’ Haven in Glen Burnie. She was an avid bowler of 10 pin and duck pin and enjoyed watching the Orioles. Neta was a former member of Disciples of Christ Christian Church in Landsdowne. She is survived by three daughters: Sandra, wife of Richard Hendricks of Stewartstown, Helen Shipley of Stewartstown and Winona, wife of Lester A. Jackson, III of Berkley Springs, WV; 10 grandchildren: Lester A. Jackson, IV, Vicki Bromwell, Amy Judlick, Richard Hendricks, Jr., Bob Shipley, Charlie Shipley, Carrie McKinney, Patrick James, Justin James, and Kyle James, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Charles E. James, Jr. and a daughter Patricia Vullo and her siblings. Private services will be held at the convenience of her family.
