Norma Jean Amspacher, 88, of Shrewsbury went to be with our Lord on September 24, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John H. Eby, who passed away in April of this year. Born in New Freedom, on March 8, 1937, she was the oldest daughter of Paul A. and Ethel (Bosley) Taylor.
Jean, (as she was known by her family & friends), was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was also a woman of endless interests and abilities. She never stopped learning. At 80, she taught herself to twist balloons by watching You Tube videos, and twisted at hundreds of children’s parties and events, often dressed as a clown.
She is survived by two daughters, Debra Cooper (Scott) of Red Lion, PA and Vicki King of Jacksonville, NC. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. She leaves behind a beautiful yellow tabby cat, Daisy, and 1 sister. She was also preceded in death by a great-grand daughter.
Public Viewing will be held at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care Inc. (24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349) from 1-2 pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. A funeral service will begin at 2 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Becker officiating.
Following the service, internment will be at Pine Grove United Methodist Cemetery (19401 Middletown Rd, Parkton, Md 21120).
