Nyella Branch

Nyella Virginia Irene ( Hammond) Branch of New Park, PA passed away on October 27, 2025. Born on January 27, 1930 in White Hall, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Stanley Emerson Hammond and Alphonsus (Buchanan) Hammond.

Nyella is survived by her 5 children Mary Branch, Ernest Branch, Jr.(Christine), Catherine Rice (David), Brenda Branch and Patricia Branch; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine Buchanan, of York, PA, and a host of nieces & nephews, family and friends and relatives.  She is preceded in death by her husband Ernest Branch,Sr.; her son, Lloyd Kevin Branch; and her granddaughter, Octavia Branch. 

The family would like to gratefully thank all of the many acknowledgments of sympathy during this time of bereavement. May God bless and keep all of you in his care.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Pine Grove United Methodist Church in her memory.

A public viewing will be held at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Stewartstown, 19 S. Main St, Stewartstown, PA. 17363 on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 6:00 pm -8:00 pm and on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 10:00 am -11:00 am at West Liberty United Methodist Church, 20400 West Liberty Road., White Hall, MD 21161. The Funeral service will be on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at West Liberty United Methodist church at 11:00AM. A graveside service will follow Pine Grove cemetery.
