Patricia Louise Holmes, 74, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. She was the loving wife to the late Clarence R. ‘Bob’ Holmes Sr. who passed in April of 2021. Born in Havre de Grace, Md, she was the daughter of the late James W. Smith and the late Evelyn Josephine (Heaps) Smith Almoney. Patricia graduated from North Harford High School, Class of 1968.

While her children were young, Pat welcomed many children into her home to watch while raising her own. She was a Sunday School teacher at Mt. Olivet U.M. Church and worked with Bobby as the Arts and Crafts Director at the HARP Summer Camp throughout his college years. In later years, Pat worked at Dairy Queen and retired from the Rutters Corporation. She always enjoyed her Sunday adventures with her daughter and loved gushing about her grandchildren to anyone that would listen.

Surviving are two children Stephanie Dawn Claiborne and her husband, Mark, and Clarence Robert ‘Bobby” Holmes Jr. and his wife, Jenny; 2 grandchildren, Gavin P. Holmes and Layne C. Holmes; 2 sisters, Margaret Ann (Smith) Stevens and her husband, Leroy, and Terry Lee (Smith) Lowe, and a sister-in-law, Darla Smith; nieces and nephews, Ryan Stevens and his wife, Emily, and their children, Larson, Karly, and Cole; Hannah Lowe and her son, Charlie Beardsley; Caleb Lowe, Branson Smith, and Jenna Smith. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Raymond Smith.

There will be a public viewing from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363 with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in St. Paul United Methodist Cemetery, Pylesville, Md, immediately following the service.
