Pauline Theresa (Ruth) McSherry, 92, of Glen Rock, entered God’s eternal care on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born September 10, 1934, in Hanover, Pauline was the daughter of the late Robert K. and Anna G. (Hartlaub) Ruth. She was the loving wife of Larry E. McSherry with whom she shared 52 years of marriage with until his death on May 6, 2005.
Pauline worked as a machine operator and retired from AMP/ Tyco. She loved playing BINGO, and listening to bluegrass and country music, especially when her sons were playing it. She also enjoyed cooking, and spending time with her family at cookouts and on special occasions.
Pauline is survived by five children, Joanne Rehmeyer & companion Roger Bowman, Jerry McSherry, Diane McSherry, Bonnie Kelley & husband Adam, and Larry McSherry, Jr. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and three siblings, Rita Ault, Fred Ruth, and Oneida Rohrer. In addition to her parents and her husband Larry, Pauline was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne McSherry and Rick McSherry, as well as her great-grandson Dylan Rehmeyer, and several siblings.
A funeral service to remember and celebrate Pauline’s life will be held at 12:30 PM, Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. 2nd St., New Freedom, PA 17349. Burial will follow in New Freedom Cemetery. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be from 11 AM to the start of the service, Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests any memorial contributions in Pauline’s honor be made to the American Cancer Society, which can be made online at American Cancer Society. The McSherry Family wishes to express a special thank-you to Amedisys Hospice of York for their dedicated and professional care team, as well as Deb Thornton and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
