Peryl Etta McDonald

Peryl E. McDonald (nee Hess), 92, of Stewartstown, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Born in Stewartstown, she was the daughter of the late Homer Harrison and Sarah Etta (Wright) Hess. She was the loving wife to the late E. Norman “Mac” McDonald who passed in 2012.

Peryl was born and raised in Stewartstown, graduating from Stewartstown High School in 1950. She worked as the Hopewell Township Supervisor for 11 years; and was employed by Dr. C. Gerry Stinson, DDS, for many years as well. Peryl was a member of the Stewartstown Presbyterian Church, and a Charter member of the Stewartstown Lioness Club where she served as President and Secretary. She was awarded a Melvin Jones and Pennsylvania Fellow. Peryl also enjoyed riding motorcycles and skiing in her earlier years; driving her red Miata convertible when the weather was nice and playing golf with her good friend Lydia.

She is survived by her son, Brian E. McDonald and his wife Kimmie; grandchildren, Leah Dahlheimer and her husband Keith, Brandon Marousek and his wife Karlie, Megan Hanna and her husband Joshua, Heather McDonald and her significant other Chad Rehmeyer, Lacey Sheppard and her husband Mitchel; great-grandchildren, Graham and Eden Dahlheimer, Emersyn Hanna, Clark, Luke, and Clara Sheppard, Korie and Ashton Clark; sister, Leona Kinard; and sister-in-law, Lois Ann McDonald-Pruett. Peryl was preceded in death by her husband, E. Norman McDonald; and her daughter, Cindy Lynn Marousek.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 3-4pm on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Stewartstown Presbyterian Church, 14 College Ave., Stewartstown, PA 17363. A Celebration of Life will begin at 4pm at the church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
