On July 30, 2016, Ralph W. Stahler, 93, died at home with family by his side. He was the husband of Doris (Palmer) Stahler, with whom he was married to for 70 years. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 4 at Parke Memorial United Methodist Church, 18910 York Road, Parkton, MD 21120. Interment will follow in Wiseburg Cemetery in White Hall, Md. Rev. Dennis Shulze and Deacon Kathleen Cheyney will officiate. Ralph was born July 17, 1923 in White Hall, Md. to the late Ralph F. and Annie Eleanor (McJilton) Stahler. He was a proud WWII veteran in the U.S. Army and fought within the European Theatre. After his military duties, he was employed with Black and Decker for over 35 years before retiring. Ralph was a life-long member of Parke Memorial United Methodist Church and was Chairman of the Building Committee, among serving on most all other committees. In his younger years, enjoyed hiking and being outdoors. He is survived by his wife; one son, Chris Stahler; two grandchildren, Murray and Michael Stahler; five great-grandchildren, Zoe, Jordan, Zeke, Peyton and Emma; and one sister, Ida R. Tracey. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Bill Stahler. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are recommended to the church at the address above.
