Richard R. Bushie, 85, of Baltimore County, Maryland, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026.

Born on July 12, 1940, Richard lived a life of service, faith, and dedication to both his family and community. Throughout his 85 years, he touched the lives of many through his commitment to others, his steadfast faith, and his willingness to serve wherever he was needed.

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years. His military service reflected the values of duty, honor, and commitment that remained evident throughout his life.

A devoted member of West Liberty United Methodist Church, Richard was actively involved in both his church family and the surrounding community. His faith was an important part of his life, and he found purpose in serving others and supporting the ministries of his church.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Janet L. Bushie; his sons, Richard R. Bushie, Jr. and his wife, Melissa Bushie, and Michel J. Bushie; his daughter, Beth Bonner and her husband, Marlon Bonner; nine cherished grandchildren; and seven treasured great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, church members, and neighbors who will miss his presence and remember him fondly.

While every life contains both joys and challenges, Richard's story was one of perseverance, growth, and faith. Those who knew him understood that his life was uniquely his own, and his memory will continue to live on through the family and friends who loved him.

Scripture reminds us, "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face." (1 Corinthians 13:12).Today, we trust that what was incomplete on earth has been made whole in the presence of our Heavenly Father.

As we mourn Richard's passing, we take comfort in the promise found in Christ—that death is not the end, but the beginning of eternal life. May God's peace and comfort surround all who grieve during this difficult time.
