Richard Scott Evans, 64, of New Freedom Pennsylvania passed away on April 14, 2026 surrounded by his family. Born on November 27, 1961 in Sioux City, Iowa. He was the son of the late Portia Darlene Gonzalez (Irish).

Richard was a member of the American Legion Riders where he rode to support veteran benefits. He was a member and former commander of the American Legion post 455 in Stewartstown. He was a member of the Army for 21 years. He was stationed in many places, some of them being England and Germany. He gained the rank of Master Sargent E8. He was a part of the 741st Military Intelligence Battalion. He loved grandbabies and had a love for eagles. He was an avid deer hunter. Most of all he was a loving father and brother.

Richard is survived by his loving daughter Carley Marie Evans (Robert Jones), grandchildren Jaxon Jones and Mason Jones, and his loving sister Suzanne Kiani.

A public viewing will be held on Tuesday April 21, 2026 at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. (24 N. Second St. New Freedom, PA 17349) from 6:00PM - 8:00PM

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday April 22, 2026 at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. (24 N. Second St. New Freedom, PA 17349) at 10:00AM

Internment will be Monday, April 27, 2026 at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery (11501 Garrison Forest Rd, Owings Mills, MD 21117) at 2:30PM. Please arrive promptly at the cemetery by no later than 2:15PM in the cemetery parking lot.
