Robert Wayne Ewing

Robert Wayne Ewing, 80, of New Freedom, PA, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Formerly of Baltimore, MD, he was the devoted husband to Martha Ann (DiMarino) Ewing, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.

He is survived by his wife, Martha, his "canine best friend" Sadie, his three daughters Robyn Ewing Burkhead and her husband Glenn, Shannon Ewing, and Morgan Ewing; and his four grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and siblings Shirley Allen and Gary Ewing; many nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Ken Ewing.

Wayne was born on July 22, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late James Bernard and Charlotte (Baker) Ewing.

He was a United States Navy Veteran serving on the USS Butte (AE77), from 1966 -1970. He retired from Owens-Illinois, Inc. in 2004 after 40 years of service. He also worked at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in the maintenance department from 2010-2015. He competed in the East Coast quarter mile drag racing with his two brothers on the Ewing Brothers Racing Team. Wayne enjoyed residential painting, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on the Ravens and Orioles.

A Celebration of Life with military honors will take place this spring, date to be determined.
