Ronald J. Jones

Ronald James Jones, 82, of Felton, PA, entered God’s eternal care unexpectedly on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

Born December 2, 1943, in Stewartstown, he was the son of the late Norman Leroy and Elizabeth Lydia (Gemmill) Jones. Ron was the loving husband of his high-school sweetheart Shirley F. (Conley) Jones with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife Shirley, Ron is survived by two daughters; Tamra Murphy and husband Philip of Stewartstown, Jennifer Miller and husband Clay of Felton, as well as two granddaughters; Hannah Miller and fiancé Jared Herman, and Lydia Miller and her beau Evyn, as well as multiple nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Jones.

Ron was a loving husband, father, and Pop-Pop. In his free time, Ron enjoyed nature, especially birdwatching, hunting, and fishing. He was an artist, gardener, and carved birds. He enjoyed street-rodding, loved all the old Western movies, and reading Western books. He appreciated the simple things in life, spending time with his beloved buddy Meatball (a pug), and helped his granddaughter take care of her horse, Nayah. Most of all, Ron loved spending time with his family.

Ron graduated from Kennard-Dale High School in the class of 1961. Following high school, he served his country proudly in the US Air Force. Ron was an Airman First Class, aircraft mechanic, and a Vietnam War veteran. Prior to retirement, Ron worked as an engineer and was one of the principal owners of Kena Corp, a plastic injection moldings company in Dover.

Ron was a very active member and Chair of the Board of Trustees at the Cross Roads United Methodist Church in Felton. He was also a lifetime member of VFW Post 7012 and a member of the American Legion Post 455.

A celebration in remembrance of Ron’s life is Saturday, October 3, 2026, with Dr. Ed Zeiders officiating, at the Cross Roads United Methodist Church, 6881 Church Rd., Felton, PA 17322. Visitation and time to share memories with the family will be from 11 AM until the start of the memorial service at 12 PM. Military Honors to be provided by the York County Honor Guard following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions in Ron’s honor be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (Wounded Warrior Project) or to the Cross Roads United Methodist Church listed above.
