Ronald L. Moore, Sr.

d. August 6, 2025

Stewartstown

Ronald L. Moore, Sr., 83, of Stewartstown, passed away at home after battling kidney failure on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Leslie and Eleanor (Kurelaitis) Moore. He was the loving husband to the late Eileen D. (Bapisteller) Moore and the late Carol E. (Rooks) Moore.

Ronald began his career at Howard Johnson before joining McCormick & Company, where he started as an entry-level production laborer and later a mayonnaise mixer. He later transitioned to the product development lab, working as a food technology specialist, a role he loved and dedicated himself to for over 42 years until his retirement. Ronald was an active member of McCormick’s softball team and a passionate fan of the Orioles, Ravens, and, formerly, the Colts. He was a proud member of the Parkton American Legion and participated in a local shuffleboard league, as well as the New Freedom V.F.W. Ronald had a deep appreciation for good food, especially Maryland crabs. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures such as watching snowfall, gazing at the stars, and tracking the phases of the moon. He loved capturing nature’s beauty through photography, often snapping pictures of snowy days and breathtaking sunsets. Above all, Ronald valued time with his family. He cherished being with them and sharing special memories and life’s meaningful moments. His presence brought warmth and joy to every gathering, and he found true happiness in simply being together with those he loved most.

Ronald is survived by his four children, Ronald L. Moore, Jr. (Debbie), Alan Moore, Lynda Knapp (Eric), and Doreen Bapisteller; seven grandchildren, Laura (Phil), Liana, Kristin, Hope (Daniel), Joshua (Olivia), David (Blythe), and Janais; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Quentin; and two siblings, Loretta Sunderland and Rick Moore (Michelle) as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend a viewing and light reception on Monday, August 11th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church, located at 2285 Plank Road, Stewartstown, PA 17363.
