Rosalee D. Matthews (Day)

Rosalee Day Matthews, 86, went to be with her Lord, Saturday, June 24, 2017. She was the loving wife of the late Edgar F. Matthews who passed away on October 13, 2007. There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2017, at Stewartstown Baptist Church, 18631 Five Forks Rd, Stewartstown, PA 17363. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Dan Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow in New Freedom Cemetery. J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., New Freedom, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Rosalee was born May 28, 1931, in New Freedom, the daughter of the late Clyde K. and Frances (Carwitz) Day. Rosalee worked at Westinghouse Electric Company in Hunt Valley, MD, as an assembler. She was a faithful woman who was very involved with church activities. She also enjoyed gardening. She lived a happy, full life with her family as her passion. Surviving are six children, Gary L. Matthews and his wife, Marlene, Timothy A. Clampitt and his wife, Deb, Diane Grove and her husband, Herbert, Brenda J.E. Bright and her husband, Howard 'Sonny', Mark S. Matthews and his companion, Tammy Warner, and Dawn Pickard and her husband, Chad; a brother, Robert Day and his wife, Carol; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Day, Jr.; and a grandchild, Tamara Matthews.
