Russell J. Reynolds, 82, of Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026. He was born on January 27, 1944 in North Platte, Nebraska to the late Clyde Dawson Reynolds and Hittie Marie (Anderson) Reynolds.
Russ is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years Christina H. (Ebel) Reynolds; his son Brian Russell Reynolds and daughter‑in‑law Monique Brycki; grandchildren Remi Krysia Reynolds and Christian Bogdan Reynolds; and his nephew Johnny Gene Reynolds and wife Deanna Reynolds.
He was preceded in death by his son Michael William Reynolds; and his siblings Raymond Clyde Reynolds, Ramona Marie Reynolds, and Richard Reynolds.
A proud Marine veteran, Russ served his country during the Vietnam War, earning the rank of Corporal (E‑4) and the U.S. Marine Sharpshooter award. He graduated from North Platte High School, Class of 1962, and later attended business school in Denver, Colorado. His professional career included 18 years with Commercial Credit Corporation where he rose to Vice President, followed by roles at Grempler Realty and Prosperity Mortgage. He retired in 2006.
Russ was a longtime member of the Glen Rock Shooting Club, the National Rifle Association, the National Wildlife Federation, and the American Numismatic Association. He loved tending to his gardens, was an avid firearms enthusiast, and was a passionate world traveler. He and Christina enjoyed countless cruises and trips, both in the U.S. and abroad. He also had a deep love for dogs, especially his two Shih Tzus, Boo‑Boo and Suzy‑Q, who brought him great joy. Those who knew him will remember his generous spirit, his loving nature, and a sense of humor that brightened every room.
Russ will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the kindness he showed, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349.
