Sandra Lee Deel

Sandra Lee Deel, 63, of Stewartstown, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Shirley A. Deel and the late James H. Deel.

Sandy graduated from Susquehannock High School and Loyola University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She loved spending time at her home in Florida where she would enjoy the sunshine and warm weather. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing on a softball team and swimming. Sandy also took great pride in her large vegetable garden and enjoyed tending to it.

Above all, Sandy absolutely loved animals! She was an avid philanthropist and generously supported countless animal organizations globally. Sandy loved her family deeply and will be remembered as a passionate, strong and compassionate woman who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her mother, Shirely Deel; brother, Jeffrey Deel; nephew, Sanjay Deel; niece, Sonia Deel; and her supportive and loving extended family.
