Sharon L. Standiford

Sharon L. Standiford, 78, of Shrewsbury, passed away from pancreatic cancer on Monday, July 6, 2026. Born in Parkton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Carroll A. and Francis G. (Carr) Jacoby. She was married 58 years to Richard Standiford who predeceased her in 2023.

Sharon was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend. Her passion was spending time with her family and was well known as the best sports Nanny. She tried her best to never miss any of her grandkids' sporting or academic events. Her early careers included secretary and bookkeeper for Southern York County School District, insurance agent at Lauer-Mann Insurance Company, and then became the babysitter for all of her grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed reading, board games and spending time with Richard and their friends.

Sharon is survived by her 2 daughters, Kristi Anders (Neil) and Jill Laughman (Jeb); her 4 grandchildren, Haylee Bailey (Lucas), Lyndee Anders (fiancé Riley Hamberger), Rylee Laughman, and Colby Laughman; 2 great grandchildren Anders and Adlee Bailey; and 6 siblings Carolyn Meeder (Alan), Valerie Martin, Marvin A. Martin (Carol), Dawn Flemmens (Denny), Douglas Martin (Donna), James Martin (Renee), along with 13 nieces and nephews.

A public visitation will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 10-11am at Grace Church Shrewsbury 473 Plank Rd, New Freedom, PA 17349. A celebration of life will begin at 11am at the church. Burial will take place immediately following the celebration of life service at Maryland Line Cemetery. Luncheon at the church following the burial.
