Sue Ann Chlumsky, 75, died Monday, August 1, 2016 at SpiriTrust Lutheran in Shrewsbury. She and her husband, Charles A. "Chuck" Chlumsky, shared almost 48 years of marriage. Viewings will be held from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Friday, August 5, at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom. A funeral liturgy will begin at 11 am Saturday, August 6 at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, with Rev. Robert A. Yohe, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow the service in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Born February 22, 1941 in West Liberty, W. Va., Sue was a daughter of the late Irvin Woodrow and Frances L. (Krumsky) Dennis. She was a graduate of West Liberty University in W. Va. and was employed as an auditor for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture in the late 1960's. Sue was happiest when working outdoors and when she could use her creative talents. She enjoyed many forms of crafting and loved sculpting and making Old World Santas, sewing, quilting and most recently, acrylic and watercolor painting. She was amazing in the kitchen and loved to experiment with cooking and baking. She was always supportive of her children and their endeavors, had a passion for learning, and especially loved spending time with her grandson, Jackson, who was her joy. Sue was a longtime member of the Shrewsbury Flower Show Committee and was an avid gardener. In addition to her husband, surviving are her children, Susan Casey, her husband Matthew and their son, Jackson, of Shrewsbury, and Christopher Chlumsky and his wife Irina of Halethorpe, Md.; a brother, George Dennis of West Liberty, W. Va., and sisters Betty Stewart and her husband, Carlon, and Frances Alderson, all of Wellsburg W. Va.
