Tana Renee Brooks, 49, passed away February 1, 2017, at home. She was the loving wife of David A. Brooks, Sr., and they celebrated 30 years of marriage on April 20, 2016. Services will be private. J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., New Freedom, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Born in Baltimore, Md., on March 9, 1967, she was the daughter of Bob and Carolyn (Merritt) Schmidt of Jacobus. Tana at one time worked as a scheduling receptionist for Dr. David Gold, MD, of Dundalk. More recently, Tana was owner/operator of Brooks’ Cleaning. She enjoyed gardening, cutting the grass, buying crafts, and decorating the house. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving and she looked forward to having family gatherings for the holidays. She was the life of the party. Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are two sons, David A. Brooks, Jr., and Tyler Brooks, both of New Freedom; David’s parents, Walter and Samantha Brooks of Seven Valleys; brother-in-law, Richard Brooks, and his wife Vonda of New Freedom; niece, Tiffany Bittman of Forest Hill, Md.; nephew, Randy Brooks of New Freedom; and a sister-in-law, Sherri Shank of Forest Hill, Md.
