Thomas A. Doonan, 77, of Shrewsbury passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Senator Bob Hooper Hospice House in Forest Hill, Maryland. He was the loving husband of Carol “Joyce” (McNamara) Doonan to whom he was married 54 years. Born in Baltimore, Maryland he was a son of the late Michael Joseph and Mary Regina (Ford) Doonan. Tom retired from Bethlehem Steel where he was a clerk for 37 years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Freedom, VFW Post 7012 and Parkton American Legion Post 256. Tom enjoyed playing shuffle board, watching all sports, bowling, completing Sudoku books and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters Kimberly Schaszberger and husband, Kenny and Christy Feser and husband, Jason; four grandchildren, Joshua Feser, Dylan Schmuck, Brenna Feser and Aubrey Feser; many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nephews and nieces.Tom was preceded in death by four siblings, Joe Doonan, Mary Rose Doonan, Elizabeth Rainey and Ed Doonan. Funeral Liturgy will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 11am from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, PA. Inurnment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.Celebration of Life immediately following at the Parkton American Legion Post 256, 19520 York Road, Parkton, MD 21120. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Senator Bob Hooper Hospice House, 2007 Klein Plaza Drive, Forest Hill, Maryland 21050 in his memory.
