Thomas Henry McDowell

Thomas Henry McDowell, 92, of New Park, PA passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. He was the devoted husband of 53 years to Doris Elaine ( Ruhl) McDowell. He is also survived by his loving children Michael McDowell and Tomi (McDowell) Ream and her husband Douglas, three grandchildren Caitlin Baublitz, Owen McDowell and Derek Ream; sister Doris King and brother Norman King, also numerous Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson Austin Mergler and siblings David McDowell, Wayne McDowell, Charlie McDowell, Kenneth King, and Patsy Knouse.

Born August 20, 1933, in White Hall, MD, Thomas was the son of the late Thomas Bert and Thelma Katherine (McCartha) McDowell. Thomas served during the Vietnam War in both the Navy, the Army, and the Sea Bees, he was also stationed in Germany. He worked for various over the road Trucking Companies. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Post 455 and VFW, Post 7046 both of Stewartstown. He also enjoyed photography and spending time with his family.

A graveside service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Stewartstown Cemetery with full detail military honors, provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard, followed by the Rev. Steven A. Schmuck officiating.
