Walter “Walt” Emanuel Schnetzka, 89, of Freeland, MD passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19th at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Patsy A. (Zimmerman) Schnetzka, together in marriage for 64 years. Born on August 22, 1934, Walt was the son of the late Ethal and Emanuel Schnetzka.
In addition to his wife, Walt is survived by two sons, Randy (Chris) Schnetzka and Curt (Joy) Schnetzka; a Granddaughter, Debbie Fick; twin Great-Grandsons which he adored; and a sister, Margaret Hostetter. Walt was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Carl (Bunk) Schnetzka.
Walt served his country in the Army from 1955 to 1958. When he returned home he worked at The American Insulator in New Freedom, various AMP Incorporated locations and was a full time dairy farmer. He retired from AMP/Tyco Electronics.
His garden and yard were his primary passions, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hanging out with family and friends at car events. He took great pride in his 31 Ford Coupe, which he and his wife enjoyed taking to car shows.
