Wayne Vaughn Joy (Wolfkill)

d. February 1, 2026

Wayne Vaughn Joy (Wolfkill), 85, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at UPMC Memorial Hospital. Born on July 21, 1940, in Baltimore, MD, Wayne lived a life filled with hard work, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to her church and family.

Wayne worked in retail sales all her life up until retirement. Throughout her life, she enjoyed sewing, Elvis Presley, putting puzzles together, and planting flowers in her garden. She later grew a keen affinity for Charlie Hunnam and the show Outlander – she watched it repeatedly. She was a devoted single mother and never let her children or her grandchildren go without. She was over the moon to welcome her two great grandsons and rarely let a moment pass without talking about them.

She is survived by her children, Jeff Joy (Judi Joy), Julee Joy-Temple (Ellis Temple), and Beth Joy (Kenny Charney); her grandchildren, Rachel Chirculescu (Valentin Chirculescu), Joey Joy (Erin Joy), Cara Richman (Jesse Harris), Meghan Rockwood, and Noah Temple (Anastasia Spring); her great grandchildren, Silas and Oliver Chirculescu; and her lifelong best friend, Ms. Pat Beavers. Wayne was preceded in death by her mother, Anne Wolfkill; her father, Omar Wolfkill; her sister, Nancy Bradford; and her son, Ronnie Joy (Kathy Joy).

A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held in the near future – the date and time are to be determined and once the details are finalized we will share them out with loved ones.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the hospital staff at UPMC Memorial for their exceptional care and support. Wayne’s legacy will live on in the lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

“Those we love don’t go away,

They walk beside us every day.

                                                                                     Unseen, unheard, but always near,

Still loved, still missed, and always dear.”
