On Saturday, March 18, 2017, John Wesley “Wes” Courtney, 54, died at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He was the husband of Kimberly Ann (Huber) Courtney. Wes was born on December 26, 1962 in Baltimore to Dolores Marie (Poffel) Courtney and the late Ralph Winfield Courtney. He is survived by his wife; mother; three children, Shane Wesley Courtney and wife, Emily Sarah, Tyler Andrew Courtney and fiancée, Brittani Nickole, and Lauren Elizabeth Courtney and boyfriend, William Sommer, Jr.; one granddaughter, Corabelle Lynn Courtney; one cousin, Christian Dennstaedt; and several nieces, nephews and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Wes enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, four-wheeling and woodworking. He was a soccer coach for Barrens Travel for many years and the kids absolutely loved him. Wes impacted many peoples’ lives over the years and was an all-around family man. He really enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Public visitation will be from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm on Thursday, March 23 at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA. A memorial service will be at 11 am on Saturday, March 25 at Loch Raven United Methodist Church, 6622 Loch Raven Blvd, Baltimore, MD 21239. Rev. Wayne Harting will officiate.
