William "Bill" D. Amberman, Sr.

William D. Amberman Sr. (Bill), beloved husband, father, grandfather, G-Pop passed away at home with family by his side on September 12th.

Born May 24, 1943, in Stewartstown, PA, he was one of three sons of the late John and Margaret Amberman, preceded in death by brother Eugene and survived by his brother Danny.

He was the loving husband of Betty, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.

Bill was a dedicated member of the Eureka Volunteer Fire Company; where he started the Jr. Fireman program, bingo and the community carnival which celebrated its 50th running last year in 2025. Bill was an EMT, Assistant Chief, Chief, Carnival Director and Jr. Fireman Leader for several years. Bill worked hard to raise money for the new Fire Station and was recently honored for his service with Assistant Chief Emeritus. Bill served the Stewartstown Community by being on the planning commission for years and the Stewartstown Sewer & Water Authority till recently.

Bill worked most of his life as a carpenter, project manager and senior estimator for construction companies in Baltimore, MD. The most notable project that Bill completed in the recent past was the multi-million-dollar renovations to the Stewartstown, Fawn Grove and Delta-Peach Bottom Elementary Schools, which he was proud to do after his first retirement.

Bill’s most important role was being a father to his daughter Wendy, sons Billy, Sean and Steven; Pop-pop to grandsons Keith and Kyle, granddaughters Raquel, Roxy and Madison; G-Pop to great-grandchildren Rhett, Adaliene, Wylden, Stetson and Eleanor; Father-In-Law to Roy, Michele and Kelly; Grandfather-In-Law to Morgan and Justin.

Burial Services will be private at Stewartstown Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eureka Fire Hall on November 7, 2026, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
