Elva Alverta McCullough Olewiler, 90, died Saturday, April 30, 2016, at SpiriTrust Lutheran, Shrewsbury. She was the wife of the late Gerry E. McCullough, Sr., and the late Barry F. Olewiler. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon Saturday, May 7, 2016, at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, with a funeral service beginning at 12 p.m. with the Rev. Titus D. Clarke officiating. Interment will be in Bethlehem Steltz Cemetery, Glen Rock. Born November 8, 1925, in Maple Grove, Md., Elva was the daughter of the late George A. Tampsett, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Culp) Tampsett, and stepdaughter of the late Kathrine Tampsett. She retired from York Hospital after 33 years of service as an LPN. She had also been employed at the former Zupnik Sewing Co. and the former Charles G. Summers, Inc., New Freedom. A member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, York, Elva was a former 30-year member of Bethlehem Steltz Reformed Church, Glen Rock; member of the Eastern Star Triangle Chapter #483, Shrewsbury; and a former member of the "Down Home Gospel Singers" Ministry. She will be remembered as a kind and caring woman who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Surviving are two children, Kay L. Mullins, of York, and her companion, Duane Jacobs; Gerry E. "Bud" McCullough, Jr. and his wife Randi, of York; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; four siblings, Gardenia L. Wallace, and her husband Lowell, New Freedom; Elaine L. Taylor, New Freedom; George A. Tampsett, Jr., Shrewsbury; and William C. Tampsett, Freeland, Md. Elva was preceded in death by son, Dale K. McCullough; and a grandson, Shawn McCullough. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 700 E.
