Charles F. Fix

February 24, 2021

Charles F. Fix, 90, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Miriam (Gemmill) Fix and they would have celebrated 70 years of marriage on March 17. Born in York County, he was the son of the late Charles Solomon and Pearl Doris (Clark) Fix. Charles served as a Merchant Marine in his younger days. He worked at the Stewartstown Furniture Factory and many years working as a diesel mechanic. He retired from Truck Specialties in Shrewsbury and enjoyed a long, happy, but modest retirement. Besides his love for his wife and children, he enjoyed many hobbies including rooting for the Baltimore Orioles, hunting, fishing and camping in Potter County. He was an avid gardener and grew the best tomatoes in York County! He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Surviving in addition to his wife are his beloved children, Brenda Deller and her husband, Wade of Dallastown, Brian Fix of Glen Rock, and Dean Fix and his wife, Sue of Abbottstown; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear sister, Joanie Jones of Delta and brother, William Fix and his wife, Lillian of Loganville. He was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Vaught and brother, Robert Fix. Services and interment will be at the convenience of his family. The family is being assisted by Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. of New Freedom. HartensteinCares.com
